When coming across this sidewalk, I was captured by the light shining down from up the street. I was having a hard time making these images - my memory card was almost full, and the sun was so strong I couldn't see through the viewfinder very well. These other shots that didn't work out just don't have the same impact as the main shot - all of the elements in the main image just work well together, especially without color.

For This Image, I shot quite a few in this spot. I was challenging myself to sit down, stay in one spot, and try to capture as many moments as I could with my telephoto lens. I feel like the final image I got took advantage of the telephoto compression, and the shadow over the man's head draws attention to the subject. The image on the far right was shot a few minutes before - I knew that I wanted to get a good shot there, and I waited for the right person to make the shot work.

These images all have a similar subject and were taken in very close proximity. As I was crossing the street, I was able to get a variety of compositions. Most of them ended up being pretty bland, but that makes the one I did get right feel more special.
Untitled #9

These images were all taken in very close proximity to the above image. I felt that these images don't have much life to them, or the image just wasn't that special. I like the first one on the left, but it just didn't stand out to me.
